First day of internship....

Before i start my journal on my 1st day at work,here is a introduction about the company ELTAFANTECH:

History

Eltafantech Asia is a newly setup subsidiary of Fantech Australia and was established on the 1st of December 2005 in Malaysia. We are proud to be the first ever manufacturing operation Fantech Australia has established in the Asia region. As we are also part of the Elta Group of companies, we have incorporated the logos of both Elta and Fantech to reflect the link that our company was built on.

Our Aim

Our focus will be on servicing the Asia market through our Malaysian operations. We will continue to build on the existing network of agents in Asia to provide you with a fast response to meet your ventilation requirements.

Products

The products that we will be manufacturing in Malaysia will adhere to the same technical specifications and quality requirements to that of Fantech Australia’s. With the advantage of being part of large international group of fan companies we have access to the latest products and newest fan manufacturing processes from around the world. We look forward in providing our customers in Asia the best that is available.

Eltafantech is dedicated to providing solutions for a wide range of air movement and ventilation needs. Our products comply with the following standards:

Airflow Performance Testing to BS848: Part 1 & ISO5801:1997.

Noise Performance Testing to BS848: Part 2 1985.

Smoke Exhaust Certification for Australian designed products, tested to 300ºC for 2 hours.

Smoke Exhaust Certification for UK made products, tested to 400ºC for 2 hours.

Testing facilities in both Australia and the UK.

I reached my "new" office around 8am.The work starts at 8.30am.My supervisor Mr Nash arrived around 8.25am.Then he took me touring around introducing me to my fellow colleagues from the admin department till production department.

Then,i was briefed by Mr Nash about the company's basic rules and regulation.He also spent some time explaining about the work flow of the production department.

Then i was brought to the impeller assembly department where i met Mr Asif and Mr Munner,(Pakistani).They were very friendly and informative in explaining the procedures and process involved from basic on how to read the details on work sheet till balancing of impeller.

In this company,three breaks are allocated for the employee which is from 10-10.15am(morning break),12.30-1.30pm(lunch) and 3.30-3.45pm(evening break).The working hour offically ends at 5.30pm.If there are additional works to be done in order to meet the delivery due date,then overtime(OT) is needed.

I really enjoyed my 1st day at work and it was fun meeting up new people and learning new things.I hope my 3 months here will be exceptionally beneficial to the company and myself.
